Joan is just like a woman

Joan Baez mostly covered songs from other folk and rock singers. It’s only on her 12th album, One Day At A Time, released in 1970, that appears a song written by herself. The song I chose for you today is Sweet Sir Galahad, that she played for the first time at Woodstock festival, in 1969. In overture to the song, she declares to the audience: “ It’s the only song that I have written that I sing outside the bathtub because I am just smart enough to know that my writing is very mediocre. ” This is so humble, and so untrue.
